No. 14 - The Warriors feat. NYC Subway Artists + Black Lodge (partial rescore)

Alright now... all you Boppers out there in the big city, all you with an ear for the action, I’ve been asked to relay an important message….

The boys are coming to town and we are here to throw down.

Join us for the screening of the 1979 action thriller The Warriors featuring a partial rescore by Black Lodge, plus live performances by select subway artists and dancers from the five boroughs of NYC.

Can you dig it?

About the  Feature Film: Based in New York City in the 70’s, this cult classic follows the gang The Warriors as they fight their way back to their home turf after being framed for the murder of a respected gang leader. Due to the film’s subject matter, Walter Hill’s The Warriors has been cited as one of the most controversial movies ever made – ahead of Caligula, Kids, and Cannibal Holocaust.  It even provoked a series of vandalism and violent acts upon its release that required Paramount to temporarily halt their original advertising campaign.  However, even with a rocky start, The Warriors has become a cult classic, inspiring spinoffs and even a comic book series.

Special Guests:

Black Lodge, a collective of musicians led by guitarist + composer Geoff Gersh, will be rescoring parts of the film.  Additional talent to be announced soon including legendary subway artists.
