Little Cinema No. 29: The Blues Brothers (IMMERSIVE)


An immersive screening of the original 1980s classic, The Blues Brothers, featuring a live brass band, crazy reverends, dancers and our signature style of video remixing fused with realtime performances.

Pop them Ray-Bans and put on your dancing shoes, we're on a mission from God!

Little Cinema is pulling Jim Belushi off the big screen and into the Church of Yes for this one-off screening of the classic action-comedy, The Blues Brothers (1980). This immersive screening will include live music by Idle Hands Brass Band, with performances by House of Yes dancers and aerialists paired with our signature video remixing by chnnls and Josh Slaby -- blurring the line between where sound and picture meet.

We'll be in the spirit of Mardi Gras as Idle Hands Brass Band turns our screening into a soulful Fat Tuesday after-party! Bring your masks and your beads and get into the Carnival spirit.

About the Film:
The Blues Brothers (1980), directed by John Landis, is an action comedy set in Chicago, IL. It follows brothers Jake and Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd + John Belushi) as they attempt to raise $5,000 for their childhood parish by taking their old band back on the road. Hilarity ensues as they subsequently wreak havoc across the Midwest.

CHNNLS, Jay Rinsky is an audio visual artist and dj based in brooklyn with work featured around around the globe. CHNNLS work focuses on the relationships between film and various performing arts with collaborations ranging from 40 piece orchestra’s at the Israel’s Opera house to a 14 piece jazz enabmbles at Chicago Jazz Festival. CHNNLS turns video into music and film into mixed media art.


House of Yes is a creative collective and nightlife performance space located in Bushwick, Brooklyn that fuses dance culture, theatre, music, food, technology and community. House of Yes uses a variety of mediums to create nightlife-friendly interactive experiences for its patrons and is known for its glitter station, hot tub, open dancing platforms and activity stations that are based on the theme of the particular party.

Idle Hands Brass Band was born in New Orleans, but raised in Brooklyn. Our members play with some of the baddest horn bands in the world, including Ikebe Shakedown, Breakdown Bass, and The Umoja Orchestra.
